Pia Tikka (M.A. cinematographer) is a researcher at the University of Art and Design Helsinki. Her background is in film, cinematography and graphic design. She has directed long feature films ”Daughters of Yemanjá“ (Brazil-Finland 1996) and ”Sand Bride“ (Finland 1998), and worked in a wide range of international feature film productions since 1989. In the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, Helsinki, Tikka introduced her biosensitive cinema project ”Obsession“ (2005), which puts into effect her doctoral research ”Enactive cinema: Simulatorium Eisensteinensis” (forthcoming 2008).

Rasmus Vuori PDF Print E-mail
Rasmus Vuori is a Finnish new media pioneer – who started in the early 80’s hacking with computers and modems and in the 90’s he turned into a network and computer professional even though he had planned to study in physics. He has actively been participating in both commercial as well as non-commercial cultural new media projects. His approach to technology has always remained instrumental, with an emphasis on art, culture and education. Rasmus Vuori is currently teaching and exploring new ways of authoring, designing and directing media artefacts with behavior at the University of Art And Design in Helsinki.

Mauri Kaipainen works as professor of new media at Tallinn University and as an associate researcher at the Center of Knowledge and Innovation Research, Helsinki School of Economics. He studied education, musicology and cognitive science at the University of Helsinki and earned his PhD 1994 from the same university. His approach to interactive media is based on the view to cognition as explorative activity of the embodied mind in its material, social and informational environment, building on the findings of cognitive psychology and systems sciences. Joonas Juutilainen PDF Print E-mail

Joonas Juutilainen is a working Media Designer and a New Media MA student at the  Medialaboratory,  University of Art and Design, Helsinki. He holds a BA in Graphic Design from same university 2004 and is currently writing his Final Thesis with the working title of "Non-conscious, enactive interfaces in public arenas". From 2007 Juutilainen has been working as designer and researcher in ARKI Research Group, Mlab, UIAH.

Juutilainen is the sensor designer and latest addition to the Enactive Cinema Crew. He has been working with the Enactive Cinema project "Obsession" since 2005 and was already the designer and creator of the first biosensory prototype shown in KIASMA , the Museum of Contemporary Art of Helsinki in summer 2005.
